Starting on July 21, CPC filling stations will use a QR Code and the vehicle’s last number to deliver fuel. According to Fuel Station Owners’ Association (FSOA) Chairman Kumara Rajapaksa, fuel would be dispensed at Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) filling stations starting on July 21 in accordance with the QR code and the last number on the vehicles’ license plates.
He therefore pleaded with the general people to avoid staying in queues because plans have been made to start dispensing fuel on that date.
He added that the army’s tokens will no longer be valid as of the 21st.
A quota system will be used for refueling the vehicles. The recipient of the QR code must scan it in order to purchase fuel from any facility.
The CPC officials are currently teaching the pump operators at the CPC filling stations across the nation on how to use this QR code. The market is lacking in smart phones, despite our efforts to supply them to the appropriate fueling stations.
