The health sector is in danger of collapsing. According to the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA), Sri Lanka’s healthcare system could collapse.

The GMOA spokeswoman, Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, stated that the lack of fuel is seriously affecting health workers’ ability to get transportation to get to work.

The Ministry of Power and Energy has been contacted to discuss this issue, according to Janaka Sri Chandragupta, Secretary of the Ministry of Health.

The Secretary added that only necessary services are now provided at hospitals.
