When asked by Sky News, President-elect Ranil Wickremesinghe laughed off claims that he was an old friend of the family of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
When the Sky News reporter said that Wickremesinghe was an “old friend of the Rajapaksas,” the President said that he has always been against the Rajapaksas.
“The Rajapaksas are not my friends. He emphasized, “I am a friend of the people.”
Ranil Wickremesinghe also told the reporter to do a lot of research before talking to anyone
In response to another question, the President said that he will make the change the people want.
