The Kollupitiya Police had received a number of reports alleging that various tools and equipment had been taken from the Temple Trees.
According to the police, the complaints were made by the Temple Trees’ workers.
The Temple Trees’ Media Unit also expressed dissatisfaction over the theft of some of its tools.
Although protesters are currently occupying the Temple Trees, a senior officer of the Kollupitiya Police claimed they were unable to determine what things were stolen from the property.
However, the police have established that numerous buildings were destroyed and that a number of valuables were stolen from the Temple Trees.
Following a conflict between two groups, a number of protesters inside the Temple Trees were taken to the hospital early this morning.
Kollupitiya Police are conducting an investigation.
