Tomorrow at 10 am, the opposition will nominate a candidate for prime minister.


Dr. Harsha de Silva, a member of the opposition, stated that Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is expected to propose a consensus candidate for the position of prime minister.

The SJB representative stated in a tweet that the decision was made in response to a request made to Parliament by acting President and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

He added that the opposition parties will meet with various government parties and factions today in an effort to reach this consensus.

Tomorrow at 10 a.m., MP Harsha de Silva added, the agreed-upon name will be presented to the Speaker.
