Two ICC T20 world cup qualifier matches were postponed after road accident

Published:

Two matches in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier C on Saturday have been rescheduled after three match officials were involved in a car accident in Belgium on the evening of July 1. The match officials and the driver of the vehicle were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but no serious injuries were sustained.

As a result, the Event Technical Committee has decided to postpone the Gibraltar vs. Israel and Malta vs. Hungary fixtures that were originally scheduled for today, Saturday 2 July, at Ghent Oval. The semi-finals today at Royal Brussels Cricket Club between Belgium and Portugal and Spain and Denmark are unaffected.

The ICC will continue to monitor the welfare of the individuals involved and a further announcement regarding the postponed fixtures and match schedule for the remainder of the event will be made in due course.
