It has been revealed that 75% of the country’s income is spent on food.
It has also been revealed that only one-fifth of the country’s population receives a well-balanced diet.
Accordingly, it is said that this was revealed in the National Assembly sub-committee to identify short and medium-term programs related to economic stabilization which met yesterday (18) under the chairmanship of MP Patali Champika Ranawaka.
The Parliamentary Communication Department mentioned that since the malnutrition situation in the country has escalated with the current economic crisis, the short and medium-term measures that can be taken to overcome this situation have been focused on here.
