The depression lay centered at latitude 11.4N and longitude 84.6E about 540 km northeast of Jaffna over southwest Bay of Bengal, will gradually weaken and move northwestward. It is very likely to move towards Tamilnadu-Puducherry coasts during next 24 hours.
Strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-Central and Eastern provinces.
A few showers will occur in Western and Southern coastal areas and in Northern province.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the country.
