A petition submitted to a Delhi court requests the extradition of a former SriLankan Airlines official who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a former employee there.
According to Advocate Ajay Verma, the complainant’s attorney, a claim was made that the criminal had eluded capture and that extradition proceedings should be launched against him.
The matter will be heard by Metropolitan Magistrate No. 5 Ms. Taranpreet Kaur of Patiala House Court in New Delhi on December 24, 2022.
According to Verma’s statement to Daily Mirror, he will work to have Lalit D’Silva, a former regional manager for SriLankan Airlines in India, extradited.
Lalit D’Silva was found guilty in September 2020 by a Delhi court of insulting a female employee’s modesty.
The accused, however, had contended that the complainant had wrongly implicated him in the matter when she failed to secure her own transfer from Cochin, where she had been relocated by the firm, back to the Delhi Station.
