Parliament to meet on January. 5

Parliament will reconvene on January 5 following its meeting tomorrow, according to a decision made today by the Committee on Parliamentary Business, who is also the secretary general of the chamber.

This choice was made during a meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business held in the House of Representatives and attended by Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse.

Parliament will convene on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 9.30 am, and from that moment until 10.30 am, questions may be raised for oral responses.

The second reading debate of the Bureau of Rehabilitation Bill and the Recovery of Possession of Premises Given on Lease Bill was subsequently scheduled to take place from 10.30 am to 5:00 pm, according to the Secretary General.

After that, the debate at adjournment time will be place from 5.00 pm to 5.30 pm, per the motion that the government would introduce.

As previously decided, Questions for Oral Answers will take place tomorrow from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.
