The underworld gangster “Minuwangoda Mahesh Malli” is based in Dubai, and the Special Task Force of Police (STF) has arrested him together with three of his associates and recovered two firearms from them.
The STF claimed that after seizing the two weapons, it had now taken 50 illegal weapons from gangsters in the previous two and a half years while acting on the orders of STF Commandant DIG Waruna Jayasundara.
During a raid at Katana on Saturday, the STF apprehended Suresh Priyankara, 32, a close associate of Minuwangoda Mahesh and known as “Bobiya.”
After interviewing the suspect, the STF detained two additional men, ages 35 and 42, who were in possession of two weapons and two magazines. The accused were given to the Pannala and Negombo Police for for investigation.
