Small-scale tea growers in Sri Lanka have been severely impacted by the fertilizer scarcity.
The lives of many workers depend on this business, according to the tea smallholders in Akuressa and Matara, but the authorities have not showed any interest in addressing the problem.
They add that they must pay high rates for fertilizers and sell the leaves for low prices, which results in a loss.
