The top five teams in the World Test Championship standings have changed a lot since Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the first Test in Galle.

The team led by Babar Azam beat Sri Lanka by four wickets on Wednesday, July 20. By doing so, they improved their chances of playing in next year’s World Test Championship final.

Pakistan now has a better win-loss record than Sri Lanka and is in third place in the World Test Championship. Only South Africa (71.43 percent) and Australia (70 percent) are ahead of the Asian team.

Positions in the World Test Championship

Sri Lanka’s news isn’t as good. They drop three spots in the standings and are now sixth with a win-loss percentage of 48.15.

As a result, India moves up one spot to fourth (52.08 percent) and West Indies moves up to fifth (50 percent) before the second Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Galle next week. (ICC)
