A 42-year-old man was taken into custody by members of the Police Special Task Force at the Kalmunai Camp for possessing a Walampuri, also known as a conch shell.
According to the STF, the man was detained for having an unauthorized conch shell weighing about 555 g.
The suspect, an Ariyampathi resident, is the subject of additional inquiries by the Kattankudy Police.
