The Cabinet of Ministers approved the President’s resolution to re-establish the cabinet sub-committee on the cost of living in order to recommend policy and practical resolutions to the Cabinet of Ministers in order to keep the cost of living stable.
Accordingly, the composition of the cabinet sub-committee on the cost of living will be as follows;
• President – (Chairman)
• Prime Minister
• Minister of Fisheries
• Minister of Transport and Highways
• Minister of Agriculture
• Minister of Plantation Industries
• Minister of Electricity and Power
• Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security
Furthermore, the Food Security Committee was established, with the Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security serving as chair and the Secretaries of the relevant Ministries participating.
